How does the platform determine changes in spend?

This article explains how the platform is able to detect changes in spend across your different marketing activities.

Have you just logged in for the first time to the dashboard?

Great! Welcome aboard. You must have some questions on the data you're seeing.

We've broken down the FAQ we get from new customers on different features on the platform, to make sure they're all answered early on - Even before the official onboarding call with the team.

In order to detect spend changes, which the platform is able to measure and tell the incremental value out of those changes, the platform utilizes one of two methods:

Pulling Platform Changelog

Thanks to the networks you've connected with us, we're able to pull the network's changelog for all campaigns and ad accounts that are enabled to us.

This way, we'll be able to differentiate between changes of spend made by the network's algorithm, and changes you're actively doing (which are the changes we're interested in measuring!).

You can read all about authenticating platforms with us in the respected section.

In the platform, changes that are originated from a platform's changelog API, will be indicated in their flag as follows:

It is also possible to filter the board to show all activities that are originated from a changelog API:

Click the "Advanced Filters" funnel, and select "API Only".

We highly recommend connecting to us all  possible ad networks you're running on, to make sure the recommendations and measurements are made based on actual changes in spend you've done, allowing you to infer the result of those actively made changes.

Automatic Change Detection

Our platform is able to detect changes in spend automatically,  based on the integrated spend we have per entity (channel, campaign, or adgroup).

For channels such as TV, OOH, Influencers, etc. where it is not possible to pull their changes in spend, our platform will compare the changes in spend on a daily basis, and will infer the changes in spend based on the comparison.

Below is an example of a channel that was increased in spend, and the platform detected this automatically, allowing the user to measure the impact  of the change on performance. This is indicated in the activity flag in the following manner:
